Two Recent Podcast Appearances

I recently appeared on two podcasts: Steve Hsu’s Manifold, and Dan Kazandjian’s Metagame. They were quite different conversations, with Steve’s focused on Land’s later work and Dan’s “gentle introduction” focused on Land’s esotericism and early period.

I wanted to clarify one thing. At the end of my podcast with Steve Hsu, I said, “If Land is wrong [about orthogonality], we’re all dead.” But what I didn’t say is that even if Land is right, we’re all dead. As Land says explicitly, “nothing human makes it out of the near future.”

Orthogonality is not required for doom. More to come on this point.
